Two MCC Faculty to Serve as National Accreditation Reviewers

Professors William Drumright, AHPS, and Louis Silvers, World Languages and Cultures, have been selected by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) to serve on accreditation review teams for the 2019-2020 accreditation cycle.

As the sole accrediting body for concurrent enrollment partnerships, NACEP works to ensure that college courses taught by high school teachers are as rigorous as courses offered on the sponsoring college campus. NACEP helps these programs adhere to the highest standards so students experience a seamless transition to college and high school teachers benefit from meaningful, ongoing professional development with the college sponsor. Accreditation review teams thoroughly examine evidence submitted by colleges seeking accreditation to assure they meet 16 quality standards and make recommendations to the NACEP Accreditation Commission.

Although Accreditation review can be challenging, it is also incredibly rewarding. In addition to helping other institutions obtain the NACEP standard of quality, reviewers get an inside look at the practices and policies of the best Dual Enrollment programs in the country. This benefits MCC by allowing us to benchmark our Dual Enrollment program and keep our practices fresh and innovative.

I'm proud to have Bill and Louis represent MCC in this important work. Let them know you're rooting for them when you see them this semester.
