Community Fridays for a Cause - December 5, 2014

Our next Community Fridays for a Cause is Friday, December 5, 2014.

Teens Living With Cancer was inspired by a teen named Melissa Sengbusch.  Sadly, Melissa passed away in 2000 at age nineteen after living with cancer for two years.  Her mother knew that Melissa wanted her to do something with what she learned from their experience.

This agency focuses on teenagers with cancer and was created because there was a gap in services for teenagers.  There is plenty of support for the younger children and adults, but the teens were caught in the middle, too old for toddler rooms and too young for adult services.  This small organization’s mission is to help teens live their best lives through all stages of their disease and treatment.

Please show your support by making a generous donation in exchange for the opportunity to dress casually.  Casual dress can be defined in a variety of ways, please check with your department leadership to define parameters acceptable for your office.  We encourage MCC gear and school colors whenever appropriate.

Donations will be collected in each department and donation envelopes are being delivered.  All checks should be made out to “Melissa’s Living Legacy Foundation.”  Please bring the donation envelopes to Jodee Biller in the Controller’s Office, 6-110 by 4:00 pm on Friday.  If you are not located at the Brighton Campus, please call ext. 2104 to make arrangements for the envelopes to be delivered to the Brighton Campus.

Thank you in advance for your support!
