Joe McCauley, associate professor, Business Administration, and Betty Stewart, associate director, Campus Center, presented a workshop on Positive Strategies for Advisors to use in Dealing with Challenging Students at the Association of College Unions International Conference on February 28, 2004 in Washington, D.C.
At this same conference, Kia Brooks, speaker of the Student Senate and Communications major, tied for first place honors in the Poetry Slam as she performed her original poem entitled Poetry: Sharing a Piece of My Story. Brooks competed against many other poets from across the nation and from other countries.
