Donna Pogroszewski is retiring

Please join me in wishing Donna Pogroszewski well as she retires after 33 years with MCC. Donna's last day as Director of Communications and Network Services and Chief Information Security Officer will be July 30. She will continue to adjunct teach for the Information Computer Technology and Homeland Security departments this fall.

During her tenure leading CNS, the department has achieved many accomplishments. Examples include the forklift of the network, upgrade of servers and storage infrastructure, turning over 300-600 PCs in classrooms over winter / summer breaks, VoIP implementation, bringing new buildings and a new Downtown Campus online, and all the work she has done to improve information security at the College.

Donna was the recipient of the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service in 2004. She has coordinated efforts to implement College-wide technology solutions and has been committed to innovation. A few examples of these projects Donna was instrumental in developing and/or implementing are:

- MCC @ Home - used for secure remote access to MCC resources

- Technology for the new Campus Center

- Card Control Access System for Residence Halls

- Network and phone activation for Residence Halls

- Virtual Campus VC5.0 upgrade

- Design of extranet tracking system for purchasing of computers

- Swipe card system for department labs

- Campus Wide Wireless

As of August 1, Donna's responsibilities will be transitioning to Amy Ariola for CNS and to Eileen Wirley for Information Security. Before she leaves, stop by and say goodbye to Donna in her office in Building 4, Room 110B.
