Unemployment benefits for adjunct faculty

Do you know that you may be eligible for New York State unemployment compensation (up to $435/week) which you can receive during school breaks and other times when you are not teaching - for example, over the summer? Are you interested in learning more about when and how to apply? Joel Helfrich, MCC Adjunct Associate Professor in History will lead a discussion covering these and related topics from his experience with NYS unemployment benefits.

Jeffrey Baker, Adjunct Professor of Psychology and Diane Dinkins-Lourette, Adjunct Instructor of ESOL/ Transitional Studies, will lead a discussion about the adjunct faculty rights and benefits (union representation, promotion, retirement benefits, seniority, tuition waiver, multiple assignments, healthcare, etc.)
