A Familiar Face on the Eastman Stage

If you attended one of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra performances over the weekend, you may have noticed a familiar face on the stage. William "Bill" Wagoner, director of network systems and applications development, performed as a member of the Eastman Rochester Chorus. The Chorus joined the RPO in a performance of Alexander Nevsky, a cantana by Sergei Prokofiev derived from his score for Sergein Eisentein's 1938 cinematic epic about Nevsky, the real-life Russian hero who defeated the Teutonic knights. The review in the Democrat and Chronicle stated, "The RPO's energetic reading made the score sound like the soundtrack of a nail-biting thriller, while the chorus, along with the wonderful, dusky voiced mezzo-soprano Margaret Gawrysiak, sang with power and unforgettable emotion."
