On April 14,15 and 16, Rochester was the host for the annual New York State Association for the Education of Young Children (NYSAEYC) conference. Mary Louise Musler, executive director of the Rochester Parent Network and co-president elect of the local association affiliate, RAEYC, served as chair of student events for the conference. These events featured poster display sessions and round table discussions led by students from SUNY Brockport and SUNY Geneseo.
Among the positive outcomes of the conference was the enthusiastic response in the Student Networking Center. Nearly 100 students from across the state as well as our region enjoyed the hospitality that included orientation, refreshments and welcome packets. Kudos to Monroe Community College’s Child Care Center and the Human Services Club, SUNY Rochester Educational Opportunity Center, Child Care Council, Inc., School Specialty, and The Letter People – all deserving of recognition as active sponsors.
