MCC Upward Bound Students Participate in HVAC and Automotive Workshops at the Applied Technologies Center

Upward Bound (UB) participants arrived at the Applied Technologies Center every Friday in July ready to work. In the HVAC workshop they alternated between electrical engineering and soldering metal pipes together using a blowtorch and metal alloy. In the TAM workshop, they engraved metal plates with the MCC logo, and then engraved the back with their name, their birthdate, or other fun designs.

In the automotive workshop they learned about the computer systems used to interface with a car, from programming car horns and head lights to interpreting error messages, and what power steering does. Thank you to Ray Otto and John Troy for all of their assistance in coordinating the workshops at the Applied Technologies Center.
