Women with Skills!

On April 12th, over 40 female students from the Young Women's College Prep Charter School of Rochester visited the Applied Technologies Center (ATC). Perkins advisors Shameka Martinez and Julissa Gonzalez partnered with ATC staff members Elisa Peterson, Bob Lasch, and Dale Pearce to talk about Women in the Trades! Current MCC technical students and staff members presented workshops on technical career options. Harley Buckman and Niki Davey, two MCC Apprentice Training, Automotive, General Motors Students, and did an outstanding job of getting the College Prep women interested and involved in an interactive presentation about careers in the automotive industry. Elisa, Bob, and Dale also helped spark an interest in the different trades with their presentations about other programs available at the ATC. An educational and fun time was had by all!
