Susan Hall and James Cronmiller Present at AAC&U's Annual Meeting

On January 22nd, Susan Hall (Curriculum & Program Development) and James Cronmiller (Biology) co-presented with Tia McNair, American Association of Colleges and University's (AAC&U) Vice President for the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Student Success; Linda Garcia, Executive Director, Center for Community College Student Engagement (Univ. of Texas at Austin); and Tina Babb, Amarillo College’s Director of Institutional Effectiveness, at AAC&U's 2021 Annual Meeting. For their panel, “Strengthening Guided Pathways and Career Success by Ensuring Students are Learning,” Dr. Hall and Professor Cronmiller presented MCC’s research on the efficacy of the writing-intensive high-impact practice in helping students develop critical thinking skills Health Science Pathway courses This study, made possible by a grant from AAC&U, was conducted in the Spring 2020 semester by MCC’s Biology Department—in collaboration with the Office of Curriculum and Development and the College’s AAC&U Ensuring Students are Learning Grant Committee.
