TCC: Invitation to join a Reflective Practice Group
Often when faculty meet colleagues in the hall or at the copier, they get the chance to have a quick conversation about something that happened in the classroom. But, they are starved for in-depth productive conversations with colleagues in a supportive environment. Reflective Practice Groups (RPGs) provide that space and environment. When faculty participate in sustained professional development, in supportive collaboration with colleagues, they are more effective teachers and have more job satisfaction.
MCC will be offering several RPGs this year. Please contact the facilitators to sign up, all faculty and professional staff are welcome. In order to establish a trusting group where members can bring examples of real work, we ask that you commit to attending all meetings, for the whole time, during the semester. Please contact the facilitators by September 6 to join.

To learn what it is like in an RPG meeting, watch this video created by Karen Coffey and Maryann Cianciotto (VAPA).
What happens in an RPG meeting
Please excuse the old terminology. A Reflective Practice Group will feel the same as the formerly named Critical Friends Group (CFG). For more information about the history and scope of this work, go to the new website: schoolreforminitiative.org rather than the outdated link at the end of the video.
