College Update on COVID-19 Testing Efforts & Cases

Quick Stats to Date:

  • 11,434 completed COVID-19 pooled tests
  • 29 total cases identified among students and employees through pooled testing
  • 0.25% positivity rate  (The Monroe County seven-day rolling average positivity rate is 1.8%.)

Since Feb. 22, the Monroe County Department of Public Health has notified the College of 1 positive case of COVID-19 among students and employees.

  • No students are isolating on campus
  • 5 students are isolating off campus
  • 7 students are in mandatory quarantine off campus

This week, mandatory pooled (saliva) testing sessions will be held 2:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 1 and 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 2 in the Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center (Monroe A/B) on the Brighton Campus. No appointment necessary.  

  • Complete your COVID-19 self-assessment prior to coming to campus.
  • If you are participating in pooled testing for the first time, please register on the SUNY Upstate Medical University website and follow these simple preparation steps (e.g., don’t brush your teeth or use mouthwash within 3 hours of taking your test).
  • Spring semester pooled testing sessions are held weekly 2:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Wednesdays.
