U.S. Secretary of Labor to Visit MCC

After the news earlier this week of our $14 million federal grant for training in advanced manufacturing, I would not have guessed that the week could get better.  But, it has.

We received late word on Wednesday that the U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis will visit MCC's Applied Technologies Center Monday morning (September 24) to learn more about our TAACCCT project and our industry partnerships, and to draw attention to this important work. We could not be more excited to welcome her.

As luck would have it, SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher’s previously planned participation in Monday’s College Completion colloquium means that she will be able to participate in the visit as well. We will also be inviting community and business leaders and elected officials to join us.

Let me extend, in advance, my deep appreciation to the MCC team members who are making this important visit and the Completion colloquium possible. Monday will be a great day for MCC! Thank you!
