Passing of W. David Borden

I am deeply saddened to report that MCC has lost a dear friend in retired admissions counselor David Borden. Dave was one of the first people I met at the college and one of its most dedicated professionals. Hired in 1967, Dave was promoted to associate director of Admissions in 1972. After taking early retirement in 1987, he continued to work as a part-time consultant in Admissions until August of last year.

A resident of Honeoye Falls, Dave passed away on February 17th at 78 years old. He is survived by his wife Dorothy; his children Barbara Borden (Robert Coupe), Kathryn Borden McGory, Mark (Lindsey) Borden, Rebecca (Bruce) DeLorme; his grandchildren Kelsey, Emily and Amanda Borden, and Cameron, Colin and Brennan McGory; sister Mary Miller; cousin, Marion Malcolm; in-laws, Paul Ackles, Alicia and Myron Hermance, Harold and Janet VanZoeren; and his nieces and nephews.

The family will receive firends at the Honeoye Falls United Methodist Church, 31 East Street, Friday, March 2, 7 - 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the United Church of Pittsford, 123 S. Main, Saturday, March 3, 3 p.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Honeoye Falls Community Concert Band c/o Ginny DeNise, treasurer, 8649 Bell Road, Honeoye, NY 14471 or to the W. David Borden Scholarship Fund at MCC c/o Tony Felicetti.
