Basketball players Charmonique Watt (Brooklyn, NY/Lincoln) and Lionel Sullivan (Detroit, MI/St. Martin Deporres) were named the MCC Athletes of the Week.
Watt, a freshman guard, helped the MCC women go 2-0 last week. Watt shot 10-of-14 from the field, including 5-of-8 from 3-point land, and scored a career-high 26 to go along with six steals and four assists in a 120-32 win over Erie CC. She then had a game-high 23 points and added six assists in an 81-43 win over Mercyhurst NE. For the season Watt is averaging 13.6 points per game and is shooting 96 percent (24-25) from the free throw line.
Sullivan averaged 22 points as the MCC men went 1-1 last week. The sophomore forward shot 10-of-12 with 25 points and eight rebounds in an 86-62 loss to Erie. He then added 19 points and 11 rebounds in an 84-74 win over Mercyhurst NE. For the season Sullivan leads the Tribunes with 15.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
