John Lovenheim, Husband of Honorary Trustee and Professor Emerita Dr. Barbara Lovenheim

Monroe Community College and the MCC Foundation families together mourn the loss of Foundation Director John Lovenheim who died on Tuesday, June 7 after a long illness. Mr. Loveheim is the husband of Honorary Trustee and Professor Emerita Dr. Barbara Lovenheim. The couple were married for 52 years.

According to his obituary, a memorial service will be held tomorrow, June 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Temple Sinai, 363 Penfield Road. For those unable to attend services in person, please visit www.brightonmc.com for Zoom information.

Mr. Lovenheim was an exemplary member of the Foundation Board since 1985 and his leadership and generosity will be truly missed. He and Dr. Lovenheim have generously supported Scholars’ Day; the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Project; the MCC Foundation's Salute to Excellence, and other initiatives for many years. They also established the Dr. Barbara and Mr. John Lovenheim Endowed Scholarship to support students with demonstrated financial need.

The family asks that no flowers be sent due to their religious preferences. Donations may be made to the Monroe Community College Foundation, Monroe County Library System or Rochester Contemporary Art Center (RoCo) in Mr. Lovenheim's memory.

He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
