MCC Student Earns "Most Outstanding Paper and Presentation" at Beacon Conference

Please join me in congratulating Daniel Heberle whose presentation, “The Spaces and Surfaces of Street Art: The Perception of Graffiti in the Time of Banksy,” won “Most Outstanding Paper and Presentation” in the Arts category at the 30th annual Beacon Conference for Student Scholars at Two-Year Colleges.

According to his faculty sponsor, Scott Rudd, “Daniel’s award for this project is yet another accolade for a student who has simply raised the bar for what our students can achieve with their original undergraduate research. Daniel has won four scholarships over the last two years at Scholars’ Day and has also presented at the 2022 Northeast Regional Honors Conference. MCC could not have a finer scholar and representative at these regional conferences. Students like Daniel prove that MCC’s emphasis on undergraduate research, its investments in developing the Honors Institute, and its initiatives like Scholars’ Day are succeeding immensely and are worth continued support. We will miss Daniel but know he will continue his exemplary work at the University of Rochester in the fall.”
