News from the MCC Board of Trustees Meeting


The MCC Board of Trustees held its meeting in the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center, Warshof Conference Center, Monroe B on the Brighton Campus on Monday, March 7 and took the following actions:

1.            Accepted the Interim Financial Report as of January 31, 2017.

2.            Authorized the purchase of items over $20,000 as listed for the month of January 2017.

3.            Authorized the transfer of funds totaling $109,425.

4.            Approved the adoption of revised General Municipal Law, Section 103 (1) authorizing the use of ‘best value’ for awarding purchase contracts for goods and services which optimizes quality, cost, and efficiency as well as non-price considerations. This process may also identify a quantitative factor and nominal price preference for service providers that are small businesses or certified minority-, women-, or disabled veteran-owned business enterprises. The legislation requires adoption of a resolution by the respective governing board authorizing the use of the best value award process.

5.            Approved the promotion of Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, and Instructors effective September 1, 2017. (See related MCC Daily Tribune post.)

6.            Approved the reappointment of Non-Contract, Professional Staff, Faculty, and Technical Assistants/Advisors as listed at the ranks and titles indicated for the academic year beginning September 1, 2017 and ending June 30, 2018 for ten-month personnel, or August 31, 2018 for twelve-month personnel.


The Board heard presentations from Assistant to the President, Title IX & Inclusion Kristin Lowe on Title IX at MCC; President Anne M. Kress on Strategic Plan Dashboard Direction One:  Learning first; and Chair of the MCC Foundation Board of Directors Jeremy Wolk on Foundation activities.
