MCC's Emergency Manager Becomes National Instructor

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has accepted Chuck DiSalvo, the Coordinator of Strategic Planning and Emergency Manager for the Department of Public Safety at MCC, into the Emergency Management Basic Academy Instructor Certification Program held at FEMA's Emergency Management Institute in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Upon successful completion of this program, FEMA will certify Chuck to serve as an instructor for their Emergency Management Basic Academy Program hosted nationwide. Emergency Managers that attend FEMA's Emergency Management Basic Academy gain opportunities to develop and advance their knowledge in areas of study such as the Foundations of Emergency Management, the Science of Disasters, and Operations-Based Exercise Planning and Design.

Chuck has already graduated from FEMA's Emergency Management Basic Academy (2017) and will graduate from FEMA's Emergency Management Advanced Academy in September of this year. These highly sought training opportunities require a significant skill level from its participants prior to consideration for entry and leave its graduates with considerable knowledge to utilize in service of their home agencies. Please take a moment to congratulate Chuck on this monumental achievement when you see him.
