Matthew Lawson, Program Manager for Orientation and First Year Experience (FYE), co-presented with Jennie Erdle, Director of Student Life at Finger Lakes Community College at the Association for Orientation, Transition, and Retention in Higher Education annual conference. The session is described below and was endorsed by the NODA Two Year Network Committee.

Make a Splash! Transition Orientees into Campus Leaders:

New Student Orientation acts as the diving board in which each student can make a big splash in their academic and student life experience. The presenters will focus on how orientation can keep your students in motion throughout their educational journey by connecting them to college resources leading to institutional retention. They will look at innovative ways to ensure each orientation session encourages students to be involved in their college community from the start.
