TV, Radio Stations Cover Sen. Gillibrand's Announcement at MCC

WHEC-TV and WHAM AM 1180 reported on Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand's Made in America Manufacturing Communities Act of 2022, which she announced at a news conference on MCC's Downtown Campus on Feb. 24. Details of the legislation are available in a separate article in today's MCC Daily Tribune, "Gillibrand Visits Downtown Campus to Announce Made in America Manufacturing Communities Act of 2022."

Upon her arrival at the campus, Sen. Gillibrand was greeted by Dr. Kim McKinsey-Mabry, who represented MCC on President Burt-Nanna's behalf. (See attached image by Bailey Burritt.) Dr. Burt-Nanna was unable to attend because of a scheduling conflict after the event was moved up a day due to an impending snowstorm.

During the news conference, several speakers noted the excellence of MCC's programs:

  • “Worldwide training goes on here in the community college in downtown Rochester.” -- Assemblymember Sarah Clark 
  • "We are standing above the new floor with the advanced manufacturing program equipment in it. I had an opportunity to tour it and it is amazing. You should come back.” -- Assemblymember Jen Lunsford
