Prof. Nyerges will accompany special guest vocalist Shayna Steele, who has starred in Broadway productions of Rent, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Hairspray (as member of the original cast). Steele has also worked with Bette Midler, John Legend, Matthew Morrison, Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton, Rihanna, and Kelly Clarkson, and her second CD release, RISE, reached #4 on the U.S. iTunes Jazz Charts and #2 on the Italian iTunes Jazz Charts. A previously-recorded performance featuring Prof. Nyerges, who will perform a number of jazz solos, will be streamed at 7:00 pm from May 4th to June 3rd. and will also be available on demand.

Prof. Nyerges, who also plays with the Rochester Philharmonic, performed at the BPO Pops concerts for 2 years with Doc Severinsen in the early 90’s. He has recorded three albums of original jazz compositions: Point Of View (1991); Jazz, Pictures & Poems (2008); and Music From The Heart (2017)—all of which received critical acclaim from national jazz magazines.

This year, Prof. Nyerges will release three new albums: Friends (a piano & sax duo set for release on May 10th),  Another Time (set to be released later this year), and a solo piano Christmas album slated for the Holiday season.
