The Second Annual Third Floor of Building One Scone Bake Off was held Tuesday afternoon, January 18th. Participating bakers included: Jeff Bartkovich, Elsie Beach, Joy Braselton, Pat Ewell, Connie Herrera, Barbara O’Connell, Anne Perry, Peggy VanKirk and Bill Wagoner. Judges were: Eddy Callens, Bette Bovenzi and Diana Rayner.
During a brief but highly ceremonial presentation ceremony, Anne Perry was proclaimed this year’s winner. Attendees who paid for a $2 ticket were then allowed to sample an assortment of scones baked by their colleagues and sip a traditional cup of English tea.
Proceeds from ticket sales supported the MCC Peer Mentor’s Book Drive for the Martin Luther King School #9. Approximately 80 kindergarten through sixth grade level books were purchased.
