Alert: Removal of flash files from m-drive

As you might have heard, Adobe no longer supports Flash Player (after December 31, 2020) and blocked Flash content from running in Flash Player beginning January 12, 2021. This was done in coordination with some of the major browser vendors who for the most part have disabled and will continue to disable Flash Player from running.

In a general scan, we found over 8400 files that require Flash to run in the Courses area on the M-drive. These files are no longer usable in their current format. Since these flash media files are essentially useless, they will be removed from the M-drive on May 7. Faculty that have content provided by publishers should contact these publishers who should have created an HTML5 or video file version of any current information. We will be in contact with department chairs and provide them with a list of the files that will be removed. Faculty members should retrieve any files that they want saved to an external storage device.
