News from the MCC Board of Trustees Meeting

The MCC Board of Trustees held its meeting in the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center, Warshof Conference Center, Monroe B on the Brighton Campus on Monday, June 3, 2019, and took the following actions:

  1. Accepted the Interim Financial Reports as of March 31 and April 30, 2019.

  2. Authorized the purchase of items over $20,000 as listed for the months of March and April 2019.

  3. Approved the Schedule of Tuition and Fees for the fiscal year September 1, 2019 through August 31, 2020.

  4. Approved the Operating Budget for the fiscal year September 1, 2019 through August 31, 2020 in the amount of $121,800,000.

  5. Directed President Kress and the MCC administration to present at the August 12, 2019 Board meeting a plan to reduce the use of fund balance in the approved 2019-20 budget, report on the plan's implementation at each subsequent Board meeting, and begin the work necessary to propose a 2020-21 budget without use of fund balance.

  6. Adopted the amendments to Article IV of the Faculty Senate Bylaws, effective upon approval by the Board of Trustees.

  7. Approved the revised Academic Calendars for Spring 2020 and Fall 2020. (The revised calendars will be included on the Academic Calendar web page.)

  8. Approved leave for professional advancement in accordance with Article 13 of the contractual agreement between Monroe Community College and the Faculty Association for James Coffey, Visual and Performing Arts, for the Fall 2019 semester.

  9. Approved a salary increase of 1.75% for the 2018 - 2019 fiscal year for Officers, Non-Contract Administrators and President retroactive to September 1, 2018.

  10. Approved the resolution honoring the service of the Honorable H. Carl McCall for his leadership and vision, his record of public service, and his dedication to SUNY and to hundreds of thousands of SUNY students.

  11. Approved the resolution expressing the Board's appreciation for Student Trustee Abdullah Abdullah Alshalchi for his leadership and service to the College.

  • Shared Governance groups (Amanda Colosimo for Faculty Senate and Alec Waight-Morabito for Student Government Association); and
  • Chair of the MCC Foundation Board of Directors Lauren Dixon on Foundation activities.
