MSNBC TV Broadcasts Live from ATC on Friday

MSNBC featured MCC's Applied Technologies Center – its academic programs, students and faculty/staff – practically every hour for about 5 minutes on Friday, April 15, as reporter Tony Dokoupil visited different classes/labs and interviewed MCC community members live on camera.

Rochester was one of many stops the MSNBC crew made within the past week as they traveled across the state to hear what issues are important to voters. The broadcasts at MCC focused on jobs, the local economy and the presidential candidates’ stance on issues.

Here are three of the six interviews that were taped:

The word from the MSNBC crew was that to have six live broadcasts in one town in a day is unusually high and means that MCC and the Rochester region offered great stories and visuals.

MSNBC visited the CNC lab, the manual machining lab, the General Motors auto lab and the STAR lab; the last one they broadcast from the STAR rooftop.

Huge thanks to Kristy Mooney Graves, Bob Lasch and Bill Horton for facilitating and speaking on camera. Tremendous gratitude to Dale Pearce, Steven Crump, Pat Bolton, David Mancuso and Joyce Ridley for allowing us to interrupt their classes.
