Mark McBride Presents at Educause 2013


Mark McBride, Director of Library Services, attended the Educause 2013 Annual Conference in Anaheim, California, last week.  On Thursday, October 17, Mark presented on Exploring Badging in an Open Course: OER 101.  This presentation focused on an open enrollment course that was developed in collaboration with librarians, faculty and instructional designers within SUNY. The course explored the use of badging within an LMS using the Mozilla Open Badges framework. The initiative was funded partially through a SUNY Innovative Instruction Technology Grant.

On Friday, October 18, Mark also presented The Transformational Journey to a Modern Learning Environment: A Triangulation of Perspectives. This presentation focused on the full redesign of a computer lab classroom into a modern active learning environment using an innovative triangulation model called a Steelcase Learn Lab.
