Ashley Simmons, MCC CSTEP alum and STEP Advisor, finishes RIT in record time

Ashley Simmons, known to STEP students as Ms. Ash, first came to work for STEP as an MCC CSTEP intern.  After a summer of working with a particularly rascally group of 7th-12th graders, she was hooked.  Ms. Ash’s dedication and focus on her own school work as well as her devotion to teaching and inspiring youth led to her employment as a tutor and later as a part-time program advisor for STEP.  In addition to her advisement responsibilities, Ms. Ash is the go-to person when students need help in Chemistry and Physics.  She is also employed as a Chemistry tutor at DCC.

It is with great pleasure that I announce that, in what I believe is record time, Ashley has completed her coursework for a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from RIT.

Please help me to extend a hearty congratulations to Ms. Ash for this tremendous achievement and help me to acknowledge what an amazing role model she has been for our STEP youth.
