The New York State Division of the International Association of Administrative Professionals held their annual meeting in Rochester on May 20-23. Ilene Benz, VAPA, was the featured speaker for the event’s professional development seminar entitled “Open Mouth, Maintain Brain! A Polishing Program for Your Presentations,” identifying ways speakers often sabotage their own presentations and sharing key techniques for creating an environment for successful presentations and focusing on a polished delivery. Mary Hallett, Instructional Technologies, was the speaker for the Sunday morning presentation entitled, “Hearing the Buzz and Understanding the Big Picture - Web 2.0: A Shift from Being Content Readers to Content Creator,” with a focus on understanding of Web 2.0 and discussion on changes it has brought about.
