Students in the ACE@MCC Program Participate in Joyous End-of-Year Celebration

After a temporary one-and-a-half-year hiatus of the ACE@MCC Program during the pandemic, students excitedly returned to campus for MCC’s Spring 2022 semester. Access to College Experiences @ Monroe Community College (ACE@MCC) is a program where students supported by partners Arc of Monroe, the Greece School District and Lifetime Assistance, Inc. have opportunities to engage in college experiences. Students spent the semester learning, participating in on-campus clubs and activities, doing community-based volunteering, and hosting the Spread the Word Inclusion event in collaboration with the Disability Awareness Club.

On May 24, 2022, students were celebrated during a joyous occasion at the Downtown Campus. Our special guest speaker, Dr. Calvin Gantt, started the festivities by welcoming all in attendance and noting the significance of the event: the last in-person ACE@MCC Celebration was three years ago, in May 2019. Seven exiting students gave wonderful speeches, each sharing their program memories and future plans. Highlights from the year were captured on student-created posters available for viewing. Guests were also invited to join student-led tours of the Downtown Campus. A great time was had by all.

Congratulations to students in the ACE@MCC program for a fantastic, in-person, learning-filled year!
