Monshipour Honored with Humanitarian Award, Presents at Princeton

For her “dedication to humanitarian causes," Shahin Monshipour, an instructor in the Anthropology, Sociology, History and Political Science Department, has received a recognition award from the Mehr Humanitarian Society (MHS).  The award was presented to her at an annual fundraising event at the Lincoln Center NYC last Saturday, October 11th.

Monshipour, who serves as a cross-cultural consultant to the MHS, gave a brief speech entitled “Culture and Poetry”  as an introduction to the event. MHS provides scholarships and financial assistance to deserving students to reach their educational objectives and better their future.

Earlier this month Monshipour gave a one-hour presentation titled "The Significance of Poetry in Persian Culture and Society" to a group of students, faculty and community members at Princeton University's Department of Asian and Near Eastern Studies.
