The Faculty Senate Professional Development Committee is proud to announce the recipients of the Monroe Community College Award for Excellence in Professional Service and the Dr. Wesley T. Hanson Award for Teaching Excellence for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Recipient of the 2020-2021 Monroe Community College Award for Excellence in Professional Service

Alice Gray, Program Coordinator, Upward Bound Programs, Academic Foundations

Recipient of the 2020-2021 Dr. Wesley T. Hanson Award for Teaching Excellence

Katie Leite, Associate Professor and Coordinator, ESOL and Transitional Studies Department

Please join the Faculty Senate Professional Development Committee in congratulating our outstanding colleagues for their excellent service and significant contributions to the College. This academic year has been extraordinary, and we want to recognize Alice and Katie for the hard work and dedication that they devote to mentoring and retaining first generation, economically vulnerable, BIPOC, and/or New American students at MCC. Both are on the front lines fulfilling the DEI mission of the college in order to mitigate the effects of the Covid 19 epidemic on our student population. We are glad we can highlight their impact at Monroe Community College.

The Faculty Senate Professional Development Committee would also like to thank all those who nominated colleagues for these important awards.
