College Update on COVID-19 Testing Efforts & Cases

Out of the 1,372 pooled tests MCC conducted this week, one positive case of COVID-19 was identified. Currently:

  • 1 student is isolating on campus.
  • 7 students are isolating off campus.
  • 8 students are in mandatory quarantine off campus.

MCC pooled testing stats to date:

  • 16,930 completed tests.
  • 31 total cases identified among students and employees.
  • 0.18% positivity rate.

Next week, mandatory pooled (saliva) testing sessions will be held 2:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 30 and 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 31 in the Flynn Campus Center on the Brighton Campus. No appointment necessary.  

Please note: SUNY is changing its COVID-19 testing and notification processes. Look for more information in next week’s MCC Daily Tribune.

MCC adheres to state and county guidelines and requires mask wearing, social distancing, hand washing, respiratory etiquette on campus. Daily health self-assessments are required before accessing campus buildings. Check the SUNY COVID-19 Case Tracker for the latest information.
