Michael Heel Elected ANNY Secretary

Michael Heel, Coordinator of Academic Assessment and Program Review, was invited to join a small group of assessment professionals from around New York state to found a new organization dedicated to the furthering of best practices in educational assessment and program evaluation.  At a June meeting at SUNY System Administration in Albany, the Assessment Network of New York (ANNY) was formally formed and announced, with a full slate of officers from a variety of institutions.  Michael was elected as Secretary of the new organization.

SUNY Assistant Provost Nancy Willie-Schiff, who hosted the meeting and serves as a member of the founding board, said Michael was an obvious choice for appointment to the leadership team of the new organization. "Michael has a vision about how to support best practice in assessment on campuses,” said Dr. Willie-Schiff. She added, “By translating his vision into proposals for action, he's been instrumental in founding the new Assessment Network of New York (ANNY), which holds great promise for SUNY and other institutions across the state."

Please join me in congratulating Michael on this appointment and thanking him for his continued contributions to the excellence of MCC.
