Patricia Donahue Visits GCC as External Reviewer

Associate Professor Patricia Donahue (Office and Computer Programs) visited Genesee Community College on Friday, April 16th to serve on that institution’s External Review Committee for the A.A.S. degree in Medical Administrative Assisting, and for the Certificate Program in Medical Office Assisting.  Pat was joined by Ms. Jennifer A. Burgett, Medical Billing Specialist from the Lifetime Care and Home Care Plus agency for this half-day visit which required the team to tour GCC facilities, talk with students and faculty members, and review the curricula and plans for both programs.

The process of external review is a required part of program evaluation at all SUNY schools, and also an important component of the Middle States Commission of Higher Education’s recommendations for program assessment among its accredited institutions.

Pat Donahue is also currently serving as the program evaluation leader for MCC’s own evaluation of its two A.A.S. degrees in Office Technology (Office Administrative Assistant, and Legal Office Administrative Assistant), and she is also leading the evaluation of the Medical Office Assistant Certificate Program.
