In celebration of Asian Pacific Heritage Month, Joanna Tsai (Biology), president of the Taiwanese Association of Rochester, was interviewed by RNews anchor Virginia Butler about Taiwanese American Heritage Month. In addition to informing the community about Taiwanese culture, Tsai used the opportunity to promote an upcoming local performance of the Taiwan Ten-Drum Art Percussion Group from Taiwan.
The event is designed to promote and facilitate the Taiwanese art, tradition and costume and to connect with other communities. According to Tsai, It's important for Taiwanese Americans to remember their heritage, culture and history. The Ten-Drum Art performance is a spectacular high energy percussion show that everyone, not just Taiwanese Americans, will enjoy and appreciate!
The performance will be held May 29th, 6:30pm, at Calkins Road Pittsford Middle School. Tickets will be available at the door; $7 adults, $4 students. Please refer to the attached flyer and/or contact Joanna Tsai at jtsai@monroecc.edu with questions.
