New Program Garners TV Coverage

On May 10, Monroe County announced the launch of a Property Maintenance Certification Program in collaboration with MCC. Spectrum News-Rochester covered the event.

Currently, 11 individuals are participating in the 13-week program funded by LadderzUP and powered by MCC. They learn basic construction skills, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, flooring, and masonry. Classroom instructions are provided Mondays through Thursdays through MCC and hands-on training takes place at a job site on Fridays. Gallina Development, The Cabot Group and Grand Atlas Properties are sponsoring the program. Four participants are sponsored by the local employers to enhance their skills, while the seven others will complete the program and work with the county to obtain employment.

LadderzUP is a Monroe County program, powered by MCC, that creates custom, accelerated job-training skills development and certification programs that prepare individuals for immediate career opportunities.
