Junior Dillion Appointed as the Title III Project Director

I am pleased to announce that Junior Dillion's appointment as the Title III Project Director was approved by the MCC Board of Trustees on February 3, 2020. Junior most recently worked as the Assistant Director of Student Life and Leadership at the College. Junior has experience with grant activities both at MCC and in his prior work life at the Metro Council for Teen Potential in Rochester. The Council's "Baden Street" grant was designed to improve the health of teens in our community including reducing the rates of sexually transmitted diseases and teen pregnancy. The grant ran over 5 years and the award was $300k; Junior worked with the Council for three of these grant years and was involved in outreach, coaching, mentoring, and reporting outcomes for the target populations. At MCC, Junior is responsible for many activities including DWIGHT and Single Stop for the Brighton campus. He also worked on the Wegmans' Family Scholarship grant.

Junior has considerable analytic skills which will be critical in his new role. As part of his Human Development PhD work at the University of Rochester's Warner School of Education, Junior is researching key impact areas in student retention and persistence. He has a thorough understanding of MCC's students, their struggles, and strategies that will result in increasing success for our students. In addition to working at MCC, Junior teaches Research Methods at the University of Rochester and is a heavy user of technology at MCC, always looking for new ways to communicate project progress, which will also be critical as the Title III Project Director.

Please join me in welcoming Junior to the Academic Services Division!
