Beinetti honored as top scholar athlete

Monroe Community College sophomore Anne Beinetti has been announced as the female winner of the National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) 2010 Scholar Athlete Award, sponsored by Summit America Insurance.

The NATYCAA Scholar Athlete Award was first presented in 1992.  It is given to the male and female student athlete who best demonstrates outstanding accomplishment and leadership in academics, athletics, and citizenship.

MCC men's swimmer Caleb Ludlow was named an honorable mention NATYCAA Scholar Athlete.
Beinetti has a 3.96 grade-point average majoring in Fine Arts.  She was named the NJCAA Region III Player of the Year, an NJCAA First Team All-American, and a National Soccer Coaches Association All-Northeast selection. Beinetti also served as team captain, and did community service at the Rochester Presbyterian Home and the Flower City Work Camp.

Beinetti is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.  She is currently considering attending the University of Rochester, Leslie University or Nazareth College, where she will continue to participate in soccer and complete her degree in Art Education.

The winners will be recognized at the NATYCAA Convention in June in Anaheim at the NATYCAA Awards luncheon scheduled for Tuesday, June 22.
