Jeffrey Baker Ph.D., Adjunct Professor of Psychology, was elected vice president of the New York State Conference of the American Association of University Professors. He previously served as delegate at large to the executive council of the group and representative to the Association of State Conferences. The AAUP sets the standards for and defends academic freedom and tenure for college professionals in the United States and advocates for educational issues at state and national levels. Sally Dear-Healy Ph.D. of SUNY Cortland was elected president. This is the first time that contingent faculty have held the top two positions in the state organization.
