Your Role in MCC Media Relations

Monroe Community College's reputation is a valuable institutional asset worthy of continuous development and safeguarding. As a public institution, MCC has a fundamental responsibility to inform the public about its mission, priorities, initiatives and accomplishments. We are committed to accuracy and timeliness in the dissemination of information about College programs and activities through the media and other mainstream communication channels.

MCC's Media Relations Policy strives to ensure accuracy, consistency and coordination of communication among all units of the College. The policy also identifies who is authorized to speak for and about the College with the members of the media. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the policy.

All employees are encouraged to coordinate with and seek any necessary assistance from MCC's Government and Community Relations Department, and to bring all interviews and media relations opportunities to the attention of Clayton Jones, Hency Yuen-Eng and/or Rosanna Yule in advance or as soon as possible following communication with a media representative.

Please also keep in mind that communication via social media may reach media representatives. All aspects of the Media Relations Policy apply to exchanges with media representatives via social media.

Clayton, Hency and Rosanna are available to answer questions you may have regarding the policy. We welcome ideas for newsworthy stories as well.

Thank you for your cooperation.
