Sustainability Steering Committee Sponsoring Virtual Small Space Gardening Workshop on 4/21

Whether you are an experienced gardener or a beginner, you probably know that harvesting fresh food from your back yard is one of the great joys of gardening. But the future harvest requires planning and preparation, especially if your garden is the size of a “match box.”

Join us for a virtual workshop on Small Space Gardening during Earth Week on Wednesday, April 21 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Jarmila Haseler, Agricultural Educator at the Cornell Cooperative Extension, will be the workshop presenter. This workshop will cover techniques and handy tips to maximize your small-plot area, including site selection, vegetable varieties, soil preparation or crop rotation to ensure a fresh and nutritious harvest for you and your family. A part of the discussion will also include sources of locally grown food, including farmers’ markets, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), farm stores and U-Pick farms.

Registration for the free online event is required! Registrants will be emailed the Zoom meeting link and a link to access the webinar recording afterwards. To register, contact Pam Czaja at pczaja@monroecc.edu.
