Adjunct System Access and Cyber Security Training

If returning adjuncts find they cannot access the systems needed to do their jobs (Blackboard and email, for example), it is most likely because of an expired password. The new and improved password change instructions can be found here: https://myaccount.monroecc.edu/

Access to systems that employees need to do their jobs is not affected by their cyber security training status in KnowBe4. However, if employees are past due on their cyber security awareness training, then what is affected is the frequency of their network password expiration. Passwords will expire every 7 days until any overdue training is completed. Nothing is broken; this is how the process is designed.

The secure link to check training status and complete cyber security awareness training in KnowBe4 can be found at myMCC > Employees > Technology Help in the Technology Links Channel.

** This paragraph is only applicable until August 2021; after that the system processing was changed.** Please note that those who get a message that they have been deleted have been archived in KnowBe4, and will not be able to sign in and take the training until their pay is active in Banner for their new job assignment. Once they get their first paycheck and are re-activated in KnowBe4, they should take the past due training immediately before they get re-archived after the last pay date of the job assignment.

In the meantime, adjuncts in the 7 day expiration group should set a reminder to proactively change their password before it expires, to prevent having to reset it at an inconvenient time, such as right before they are to teach a class on Zoom. If a user mistypes their password reset repeatedly, there is a 24 hour "time out" during which they will have to wait to retry, so take care to type accurately.

Once all assigned training is complete, users in the 7 day password expiration group should request their expiration schedule be reset back to normal by emailing (HELPDESK@monroecc.edu) or calling Technology Support at 292-8324. You do not have to provide certificates of completion; your status is visible in the KnowBe4 system.
