Change Management Presentation Today at Noon

If interested in rsvp-ing for any of the remaining summer sessions listed below, please email Pam Rende (prende@monroecc.edu) and you will be sent a private zoom link. Note: in the career development section a new Linked-In program and a personalized career consultation have been added on August 25th and beyond.

I. MCC STORIES

After two recent well-received sessions on stories about MCC employees, this program features one more theme for the summer. If anyone wishes to be a presenter with a story related to the theme of the event, please email Pam.

A. STORIES OF STUDENT SUCCESS

As we gear up for the fall semester, faculty and staff will share stories of students who achieved great success at MCC and beyond.

Tuesday, August 18th Noon to 1:00 pm

II. MANAGING DISTRACTIONS WHILE WORKING FROM HOME

An opportunity to reflect on the things that distract one in life, and strategies on how to minimize the distractions and become more productive while you work from home. Although designed for the current work situation, the information provided equally pertains to working on campus.

Monday, August 17th Noon to 1:00 pm

III. ASSESSING YOUR CAREER DURING UNCERTAIN TIMES

This four-part series will provide attendees an opportunity to look deeply into their career, take advantage of this work-from-home period, and ensure that their future positions remain fulfilling. The sessions are independent of each other, so you can attend one or more of them.

A. LINKED-IN OR LEFT OUT

Join Anne Hughes from the Career Development Center as we review the power of Linked-In for career enhancement and professional development.

Tuesday, August 25th Noon to 1:00 pm

B. LEADING WITH INFLUENCE DURING THE PANDEMIC AND BEYOND

No matter what position each employee holds, leadership skills enhance our abilities to be more effective. Join us for a panel of influencers who will share ideas on how to increase one's influence at MCC and beyond.

Wednesday, August 12th Noon to 1:00 pm

C. FIVE PRINCIPLES TO GOVERN YOUR PROFESSIONAL LIFE

This presentation will cover guiding principles that are applicable to all careers. Even if you plan to remain in your current position until retirement, this session will provide ideas and information to enhance your current role.

Monday, August 24th Noon to 1:00 pm

D. CAREER CONSULTATIONS

Given the nature of our uncertain times at MCC, these private consultations provide employees the opportunity to review their resumes, discuss career pathways, and in some cases, prepare for interviews.

By appointment (please contact Pam to schedule)

IV. FINANCIAL FIRESIDE ZOOM CHATS

These informative presentations will review current market conditions and provide historical perspectives for this challenging economic period. The program is presented by financial educator from VOYA, Gary Witten, and the sessions are designed for all employees from those just starting their careers to those preparing for retirement. Each workshop will cover different areas, but employees are welcome to ask any questions related to the SUNY financial benefits and their own interests.

A. FINANCIAL WELLNESS WORKSHOP

In this session, Gary will review key areas to focus on to enhance one's financial wellness.

Thursday, August 20th Noon to 1:00 pm

Thanks to all for your continuing efforts to serve our students!
