Winnetta Nicholson Accepts Associate Director, Labor and Employee Relations, in Human Resources

The Human Resources department is thrilled to announce that one of our current team members, Winnetta (Winnie) Nicholson, has accepted the College's offer to serve as the next Associate Director, Employee and Labor Relations, replacing Michael Farrell who resigned in March 2023.

Winnie received her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of California at San Diego.  She is currently pursuing her master's degree in human resources management from Stony Brook University.  In May 2023, Winnie will complete the certification program with the national Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).

Winnie joined the MCC HR department in 2019.  From the start, she has demonstrated a passion for helping employees achieve their goals.  To that end, she has proactively taken on new duties, cross-trained with colleagues whenever possible, and problem-solved challenges with attention to detail, a positive attitude, and most importantly, fairness, equity, and respect for others.

As Associate Director, Winnie is committed to improving employee retention and enhancing opportunities for employee professional development.  She endeavors to strengthen the relationships she has developed at MCC to effectively collaborate with colleagues and bargaining unit leaders to achieve the goals of our Vision2027 strategic plan.

Winnie's office is located in the Human Resources suite (building 6, room 301).

Please join us in welcoming Winnie to her new role!
