Random Acts of Kindness Week

This week, February 14-20, 2021, is Random Acts of Kindness Week! To celebrate, the Counseling Center and Disability Services team invited MCC’s residence hall students to join in on a fun and lighthearted drop-in session focused on promoting kindness to self and others. This was an opportunity for this cohort of students to meet some of the counseling team, and to join in on a round of Kindness Bingo.

The office chose to highlight the annual tradition of celebrating kindness this week because we know everyone can use more kindness in their lives, especially this year. A Random Act of Kindness is defined as giving your best self to others without requests or promise of return on investment. It’s simply doing something nice for someone else, without them asking and without you doing it for anything in return. To quote Desmond Tutu, “Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.”
