COVID-19 Case Update & Reminders

MCC COVID-19 pooled and rapid test results* for the week of Nov. 29 are as follows:

  • No positive cases were identified among students, faculty and staff who were tested.
  • 15 students are isolating off campus.
  • No students are isolating on campus.
  • 3 students are in mandatory quarantine off campus.
  • 1 student is in precautionary quarantine.
  • MCC’s overall on-campus positivity rate to date: 0.21%.
    • Week of Nov. 29 positivity rate (students): 0%
    • Week of Nov. 29 positivity rate (faculty and staff): 0%
  • Monroe County rolling 7-day average positivity: 9.8%

Pooled Testing Sessions Today, Dec. 6 and Tuesday, Dec. 7
If you have not verified vaccination and you plan to come to campus—frequently or infrequently—for any reason, you must test each week for COVID-19. If you have verified vaccination, participation in pooled testing is optional.

MCC pooled testing sessions will be held 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. today, Dec. 6 and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. tomorrow, Dec. 7 in the Flynn Campus Center, starting in the Forum (3-130). No appointment necessary.

Reminders: If you test positive for COVID-19, contact Kristin Lowe, executive director, Human Resources and Organizational Development, at 292-2048 or klowe5@monroecc.edu.  

If you feel ill or are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms (e.g., fever, cough, chills, etc.), please contact your health care provider or urgent care. Do not come to MCC. Do not contact MCC Health Services as responding to student health needs is their No. 1 priority.

If you have not verified vaccination and you plan to come to campus—frequently or infrequently—for any reason, you must test each week for COVID-19.

If a student notifies you that they tested positive for COVID-19 or have been instructed to quarantine (i.e., have been potentially exposed to the virus), direct them to immediately contact MCC Health Services at 292-2018 or healthsvc@monroec.edu and the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities studentrights@monroecc.edu to confirm next steps.
