Passing of MCC Student Jaquayla Young

The MCC family mourns the sudden and tragic loss of Jaquayla Young who passed away on September 19, 2020 as a result of violence in our community.

A graduate of Rochester's East High School, Ms. Young was enrolled in our Health Studies associate degree program. We are very saddened to lose a member of our college family. Our thoughts are with her family and friends.

MCC's Counseling and Disability Services Team are available to assist students who may have known Ms. Young. Student coping support circles are also available. Please contact the Counseling Center at (585) 292-2140 or counselingservices@monroecc.edu to schedule an appointment to talk with a counselor or for more information.

Counseling support is also available for employees through EmployeeConnect, MCC's employee assistance program, provided through our Human Resources Department.

If you have information regarding the mass shooting that occurred in Rochester Saturday morning, September 19, please call 911 or e-mail MajorCrimes@cityofrochester.gov.
