Margaret E. Gardner, Music/Performing Arts (Retiree)

The College family was saddened at the news that Margaret E. “Peggy” Gardner died at age 87 on January 16, 2022. Her funeral mass was held on February 5 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Livonia, N.Y.

According to her obituary, her parents, her husband, Harold F. Gardner, Jr. and her sister, Bernice Mori predeceased her. She is survived by her children, Harry (Pam) Gardner and Lisa Gardner; her sister Carol McGee; two grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and friends.

Born in Rochester, Ms. Gardener graduated from Nazareth Academy. After working for the Kelly Agency, she became a member of the MCC family in 1976 as a stenographer in MCC’s Speech and Theater Department. In 1987, she was promoted to a clerk III with typing position in the Chemistry Department. She loved working with faculty and students and will be remembered for her knowledge of MCC, her interpersonal skills, courtesy, and her contributions to the success of MCC’s Music Department. 

After a 20-year MCC career, she retired as a supervising secretary in the Music/Performing Arts Department. MCC extends their condolences to her family and friends.
