Passing of Former Employee Pamela Kone

The college community mourns the passing of Pamela Kone on April 24.

Pam, a former technical assistant at MCC’s Applied Technologies Center, left the college earlier this month because of her failing health. She was a valuable member of the ATC staff since 2001, working with apprentices in the machine trades and students in the HVAC and Precision Machining programs and coordinating job fairs. A member and officer of the MCC Toastmasters Club for many years, she was skilled in leading tours at ATC for local schools and community groups. She was known to go above and beyond what was expected for the department, college and students.

Pam began her career at MCC in 2000 as an apprentice advisor in the Technical Education department. During her tenure, she was also an adjunct lecturer in the Transitional Studies department.

Her service to the college included chairing the Professional Development committee and serving as a member of the Tooling and Machining Advisory Board, MCC HVAC Advisory Board, and the Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association scholarship committee.

Recently, Pam's family, friends and MCC colleagues hosted a surprise party for Pam which she truly enjoyed. A scholarship has been established in her honor at the MCC Foundation. She will be dearly missed.

Information about memorial services will be forthcoming.
